I appreciated that they let my dog in with me. I didn’t have much to eat, but what I did have was excellent most delicious guacamole! I’ll be going back for dinner!

Great food, great service, great prices Mario's is a little hole-in-the-wall place just off the main plaza in San Antonio Tlayacapan. But don't let that deter you, because the restaurant is frankly excellent. The menu basically consists of traditional, high-quality Mexican dishes, with a few American ones thrown in for the Gringos. There's also a daily specials selection that rotates every couple of weeks. Pro-Tip: The Carne en su Jugo is simply superb.

Local gem in San Antonio. We have been twice in a week and enjoyed every minute. The place is family run and the whole family are so friendly and special. Food portions are generous and delicious. Make sure you follow the advice they give you and you won’t be disappointed. We had their steak and a prawn burger on the first night. We had to share a dessert as we were so full! The second time we had their platons gratinado. They were scrumptious. On both nights we had delicious guacamole made on the spot and fantastic agua frescas. We sat at the back in a very nice courtyard which had a great vibe all round. This restaurant deserves more than a visit!

We have been doing Marios a while via traitte mx but this was our 1st time there. Staff greeted us at the door. Drink orders took 4min so very fast. Right away chips and the best salsa lakeside was brought to the table. I got the special which was filet mignon with bacon and mushrooms. The salsa is so good I actually asked about buying some for home..I enjoyed it for about 3 days..There was 5 in our group. Everyone enjoyed their food..all clean plates...Mom got the Ajillo fish which is smothered in roasted Poblano peppers which I took and put on my filet..omg ..so good. Mom loves their fish it's white, fresh and a great portion. We ll be back Thank you Fred Tolodziecki

Excellent home cooking of Mexico. Great breakfasts, delicious Mexican food, best guacamole anywhere, friendly and casual dining. BBQ on the weekends. Call to find out what they are doing on the BBQ, because it changes every week, but you will not be disappointed. And save room for dessert!!

100% recommend, chilaquiles were the bomb! I also had a jugo verde and it was delightful. Service was perfect, and I would absolutely go back to get those Chilaquiles!

Authentic old time favorite. Has stood the test of time with over two decades. Today as expected service great. Arrechera & Enchiladas deligtful. A must go to for Mexican neighborhood vibe. Update: visited again. Great service, food and vibe.

Hands down this was the BEST restaurant I ate at while in the Chapala-Ajijic area! The food, service, attention to detail, quant atmosphere, portions and prices were all excellent. When I first arrived I met the gracious and friendly owner who was outside grilling vegetables for their amazing salsa and fresh made chips they serve everyone. I first had lunch where I ordered an excellent Hawaiian Hamburger and home made fries. It was so good I returned for dinner the next day and had grilled Camarones Zarandeados with a sauce to die for and the Bistec de Res, which was also excellent. I also look around what other people were eating and it all looked delicious! This is a must go to restaurant!
